The lyrics are pretty self explanitory but it is about the shadow aspect from a physcological aproach. Our greatest enemies are ourselves.

I watched my life being torn apart from seam to seam. Where do you turn? When all of your bridges have been burned. I’ve been dragged to hell and back, from highest to lowest. I had everything within my grasp. Everyone just wants to bring me down, and watch me fall to the ground. I may act like it’s me against the world, but in reality it’s only me against myself. It’s only me against my fucking self.
